Frequently Asked Questions

Admission & Shopping

How does Rusty Pickins work?

Warehouse admission is $25 per person, cash only. Admission includes everything you can carry on your person from the Lug It Line, through the doorway, and over the door threshold. Once out the door, you may put it down. Admission covers one entry. If you leave and return, another admission fee is required.

There is no admission fee to shop in Prime Pickins, a separate area featuring higher-value items that are individually priced.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash only. There is no ATM on site, so please bring enough cash for admission and purchases.

What kinds of items do you carry?

Our constantly changing inventory focuses on smaller, easy-to-carry finds such as collectibles, electronics, home goods, kitchenware, décor, tools, vintage pieces, and new-in-box merchandise. Unlike many traditional thrift stores, clothing and large furniture are not our main focus, although you may occasionally find both.

Is admission refunded if I do not find anything?

No. The $25 admission is nonrefundable, even if you choose to leave empty-handed. But remember, you’re not looking for one $25 item. You have 4,000 square feet packed with constantly changing inventory, and everything you can carry out in one trip is yours. Come ready to dig, hunt, and make that $25 count. We think the harder decision will be figuring out what you can carry.

Can I come in and just look around?

No. The main warehouse is a flat-fee shopping experience, not a traditional retail store. The $25 admission fee is required to enter, so come prepared to shop, dig, and discover some treasures. You may browse Prime Pickins without paying admission.

Does everyone entering the main warehouse need to pay admission?

Yes. Admission is $25 per person and is required for everyone entering the main warehouse. Admission covers one entry only. If you leave and return, another admission fee is required. Prime Pickins may be browsed without paying admission.

Are Prime Pickins prices negotiable?

No. Prime Pickins prices are firm and are set well below comparable online resale and retail prices.

Are children allowed to shop?

Shoppers must be 16 or older due to warehouse safety conditions. Children under 2 are allowed only when secured in a stroller or an on-body baby carrier.

Accessibility & Planning Your Visit

Is the warehouse wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The warehouse and bathroom are wheelchair accessible. We have a ramp to enter and are working on a parking solution.

How do the carrying rules apply to shoppers with disabilities or mobility limitations?

Shoppers with disabilities or mobility limitations may bring a companion to assist with carrying or speak with staff before shopping so we can work with you on a safe carry-out plan.

Is there a restroom?

Yes, customer restrooms are available and with one wheelchair accessible.

Where should I park?

Parking is available inside the gated yard and in five spaces in front of the building. Please do not park on the street. If on-site parking is full and you must park on First Street, use only the west side south of the building near the open field. Do not park on the east side of the street, in the neighborhood, or in front of any home or business.

Where do I enter?

Entry is at the back of the building. If you park in front of the building or on First Street, please come through the gate into the yard and continue to the back entrance. The front door is not accessible.

What are your hours?

Saturday: 9am–12pm
Sunday: 10am–1pm

We restock Friday and Saturday afternoon before shopping opens.

Merchandise, Carry-Out & Other Policies

Can I bring a wagon or cart?

Yes. They are allowed while shopping, but the cart or wagon and everything inside it must be carried from the Lug It Line, through the doorway, and over the threshold.

Do I need to bring bags?

Yes. Please bring your own bags or totes. Bags and boxes may be available at the warehouse, but they are not guaranteed.

Can shoppers combine their items or help carry each other’s loads?

Yes. Get creative with your exit strategy. Paid shoppers may combine items and carry a shared load together. Smaller items may be stacked on larger items, such as placing them on top of a dresser, as long as the entire load is lifted from the Lug It Line and carried completely over the door threshold. Nothing may be rolled, pushed, or dragged. If you drop anything, you must start over at the Lug It Line.

How do I take large or heavy items?

Your admission covers items that you can carry out under the regular Lug It Line rules. Paid shoppers may work together to carry a shared load. If an oversized item requires employee assistance, staff-assisted carry-out is $25 per marked item or set. For example, a dining table is one $25 assisted carry-out, and a set of four chairs is another. Please ask an employee before moving or claiming oversized merchandise.

Can merchandise be held or reserved?

No. We do not hold or reserve merchandise.

Do you accept donations or purchase items from the public?

Yes. Email donate@rustypickins.com about donations or sell@rustypickins.com about selling an estate or collection.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed. Service animals are welcome and must remain under the handler’s control.

Where are closures or schedule changes announced?

Closures and schedule changes will be announced on our website, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram. Please follow us on social media to see weekly finds.

Do you offer delivery?

No. We do not offer delivery, and all purchases must leave with you on the day of purchase. Please bring a vehicle large enough for those unexpected finds.

Are electronics and other merchandise tested or guaranteed?

All merchandise is sold as-is. Most electronics are tested only to confirm that they power on; no additional functionality testing is performed. Items known to be for parts or repair will be clearly labeled.

What time is the last admission?

Shoppers may enter until closing, 12pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday. Doors close promptly, and the selection becomes more limited throughout the day, so arrive early for the best finds.
